Day 1 – Hobart to Port Arthur
Your Tasmanian journey begins with a scenic drive through the Coal River Valley, with a short stop in Richmond, home to Australia’s oldest bridge. Continue south to the Tasman Peninsula for photo stops at Tasman Arch and Devil’s Kitchen, dramatic rock formations carved by the sea.
In the afternoon, explore the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Port Arthur Historic Site. Learn about Tasmania’s convict past on a guided walk and take a harbour cruise to view the Isle of the Dead, rich in haunting stories and history.

Day 2 – Port Arthur to Bicheno via Freycinet
Today we travel along Tasmania’s east coast, stopping first at Raspins Beach for views across Maria Island. Continue through Swansea, then pause at the historic Spiky Bridge and the rugged coastline at Spiky Beach.
Enjoy a morning stop at Kate’s Berry Farm before lunch and wine tasting at Devil’s Corner Vineyard, with views of The Hazards and Great Oyster Bay. In the afternoon, take a walk to the famous Wineglass Bay Lookout inside Freycinet National Park.
We overnight in Bicheno, where after dark you’ll have the chance to spot little penguins returning from the sea.

Day 3 – Bicheno to Launceston via Bay of Fires
Begin the day at Bicheno Blowhole and meet Tasmania’s wildlife up close at East Coast Natureworld. Then it’s onward to the Bay of Fires, where white sand beaches and clear waters await at Binalong Bay.
Travel inland through rainforest and farmland, stopping at Legerwood to view carved memorial trees that honour fallen soldiers. Arrive in Launceston and enjoy a short visit to the scenic Cataract Gorge.

Day 4 – Launceston to Strahan via Cradle Mountain
Travel west through the picturesque Meander Valley and visit Sheffield, Tasmania’s mural town, where public art tells local stories.
At Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park, enjoy a walk around Dove Lake beneath the towering peaks. In the afternoon, wind your way through rugged terrain and past historic mining sites on the drive to Strahan on the west coast.

Day 5 – Strahan and the Gordon River
Cruise through untouched wilderness on the serene Gordon River. See mirrored reflections of rainforest, visit Sarah Island’s haunting convict ruins, and hear stories of survival and hardship.
Back in Strahan, enjoy time to explore the town or visit Ocean Beach and Hogarth Falls. In the evening, enjoy the entertaining local theatre production The Ship That Never Was, a true tale of convict escape told with humour and audience participation.

Day 6 – Strahan to Hobart
The return to Hobart begins with a scenic stop at the Iron Blow Lookout above Queenstown. Journey through the Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park with a forest walk at Nelson Falls, followed by a visit to Lake St Clair, Australia’s deepest lake.
Stop to admire The Wall in the Wilderness, an impressive hand-carved timber sculpture that tells the story of Tasmania’s pioneers. Travel down the Derwent Valley, with a final nature stop at Russell Falls in Mount Field National Park. Arrive in Hobart by early evening.
