Burnie is an excellent port to book a shore excursion as there is much to see inland and Burnie itself being small is quick to see, meaning you have time to see Burnie and do a cruise tour. It is a good idea to book ahead in Burnie as there are far less tour companies operating in Burnie compared to Hobart.
